Day 1: Moshi/Arusha – Londorossi Gate – Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree)
The day begins with a scenic drive to Londorossi Gate, where the trek commences. Trekking through dense rainforests filled with diverse flora and fauna, you will reach Mti Mkubwa, your first campsite. The route spans approximately 7 kilometers, taking about 4-6 hours to complete. Expect mild temperatures and a vibrant, green landscape.

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa – Shira 1 Camp
Leaving the rainforest behind, the trail leads to the moorland zone. The hike to Shira 1 Camp covers about 11 kilometers and takes 5-7 hours. The landscape transitions to open grasslands, offering breathtaking views of the Shira Plateau. Temperatures become cooler as altitude increases.

Day 3: Shira 1 Camp – Moir Hut

The day's trek involves a climb to Lava Tower, reaching approximately 4,600 meters. Descending from Lava Tower, you will arrive at Barranco Camp, covering roughly 10 kilometers in 6-8 hours. The landscape transitions to alpine desert, with striking views of the Barranco Wall.

Day 5: Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp
Today's hike includes navigating the challenging Barranco Wall before heading to Karanga Camp. The trail spans about 5 kilometers, taking 4-5 hours. The route offers stunning vistas of glaciers and expansive valleys, with a gradual increase in altitude.

Day 6: Karanga Camp - Barafu Camp
Ascending further, the trek takes you to Barafu Camp. Covering approximately 4 kilometers over 3-5 hours, the landscape transforms into a stark, arid environment. Temperatures drop significantly, and the air becomes thinner as you approach the summit base camp.

Day 7: Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak – Barafu Camp – Mweka Camp
The summit day begins in the dead of night, aiming to reach Uhuru Peak at sunrise. The ascent involves navigating steep, icy terrain, covering around 15 kilometers round trip in 10-14 hours. At the pinnacle, experience an overwhelming sense of achievement and witness the breathtaking sunrise. Descend back to Barafu Camp for a brief rest before continuing to Mweka Camp.

Day 8: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate - Moshi
The final leg of the journey involves a descent through the lush rainforest. Trekking about 10 kilometers over 3-4 hours, you will arrive at Mweka Gate, where a celebration awaits. A certificate of accomplishment is bestowed upon you before heading back to Moshi.
