Day 1: Moshi -Marangu Gate -Mandara Hut
Distance: Approximately 8 kilometers Duration: 5-6 hours Temperature: Varies from 20°C (68°F) to 10°C (50°F) at higher altitudes The hike commences at the Marangu Gate, the starting point of the Marangu Route. Day 2: Mandara Hut -Horombo Hut
Distance: Approximately 12 kilometers Duration: 6-8 hours Temperature: Temperatures range between 15°C (59°F) to 5°C (41°F) Ascend through moorlands and heathlands, witnessing the landscape transform into a more alpine setting. The trail offers breathtaking views of Mawenzi Peak and the surrounding vistas. Arrive at Horombo Hut, a resting place at a higher altitude, where you will spend the night.

Day 3: Horombo Hut- Kibo Hut
Distance: Approximately 9 kilometers Duration: 6-7 hours Temperature: Temperatures drop significantly, ranging between 5°C (41°F) to -5°C (23°F) Traverse through the stark and rugged landscape of the "Saddle," an expanse between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The terrain becomes rockier as you make your way to Kibo Hut, your final stop before the summit push. Prepare mentally and physically for the challenging ascent ahead.

Day 4: Kibo Hut -Uhuru Peak (summit point) Back to Horombo Hut
Distance: Approximately 6 kilometers ascent, 15 kilometers descent Duration: 6-8 hours to ascend to Uhuru Peak, 6-7 hours to descend to Horombo Hut Temperature: Sub-zero temperatures at higher altitudes Start the summit bid in the early hours, navigating the steep and demanding trail to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Experience the euphoria of reaching the summit, basking in panoramic views as the sun rises over the continent. Descend back to Kibo Hut and further down to Horombo Hut for a well-deserved rest.
