The adventure begins as you drive to the Lemosho Gate, the starting point of the Lemosho Route. After completing the necessary registration procedures, you will commence your trek through lush rainforests. The trail gradually ascends, and after approximately 4-5 hours of trekking, you will reach Big Tree Camp, where you will spend the night.
As the sun rises, you will continue your journey towards Shira 1 Camp. The trail takes you through moorland, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. After approximately 6-7 hours of trekking, you will reach Shira 1 Camp, situated at an altitude of approximately 3,500 meters (11,483 feet).
On this day, you will leave the moorland behind and ascend towards the alpine desert zone. The trail takes you to Moir Hut, located at an elevation of approximately 4,200 meters (13,780 feet). The hike takes around 5-6 hours and provides incredible panoramas of the mountain and its neighboring peaks.
As you continue your climb, you will encounter various terrains and witness the dramatic change in landscapes. Today's trek takes you to Barranco Camp, situated in the renowned Barranco Valley. This campsite offers breathtaking views of the Barranco Wall, a challenging but thrilling obstacle on the journey.
After conquering the Barranco Wall, you will proceed towards Karanga Camp. The trail takes you through scenic valleys and ridges, providing ample opportunities to capture memorable photographs. The trek takes approximately 4-5 hours, and upon arrival at Karanga Camp, you can rest and prepare for the next day's ascent.
As you near the final stages of your climb, you will trek from Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp. This campsite, located at an altitude of approximately 4,600 meters (15,091 feet), serves as the base for the summit attempt. Rest and proper acclimatization are crucial at this stage, as you prepare for the challenging summit day ahead.
The long-awaited summit day has arrived. You will wake up before midnight to begin the final ascent to Uhuru Peak, the highest point of Mount Kilimanjaro. The journey is physically demanding but incredibly rewarding. As you reach the summit, you will be greeted by a breathtaking sunrise and a sense of triumph. Summit Day and descent to Mweka Camp
