    Today's trek is shorter but still starts early to reach your destination, Shira Camp, around mid-afternoon.     Day 3 : Shira Cave Camp to Barranco Camp Trekking to Kilimanjaro Via Lava Tower


    To allow your body to acclimatize to the altitude, today's trek involves gaining about 700 meters in elevation but sleeping at a level not much higher than the previous night. Starting from the Shira Plateau, your journey takes you to Lava Tower at approximately 4640 meters, where you'll take a rest before continuing through the Barranco Valley. The Barranco Camp at 3960 meters is your destination for the day, and the trek will take around 6 to 7 hours. The alpine desert and the Barranco Valley's unique vegetation, adorned with small lobelia plants and giant senecio's, make this part of the trek truly special.

    Day 4 : Leaving Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp


    After breakfast, you'll conquer the renowned Barranco Wall. While it may require the occasional use of hands for a better grip, there are no trekking passages, and your experienced guides prioritize safety throughout. This day involves numerous ascents and descents, with a walk along the mountain ridge offering a stunning view of Kibo's glacier. The journey to Karanga Camp at 4035 meters takes about 3 to 4 hours, with the Kibo summit always accompanying you on the left.

    Day 6 : Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp 6th Day Up to Summit Kilimanjaro


    The trek to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5895 meters, begins at midnight. After a wake-up call and some tea and biscuits, you'll ascend for around 5 to 7 hours until reaching Stella Point, the crater rim of Kilimanjaro. Another 1 to 2 hours of trekking will bring you to Uhuru Peak, where you'll witness a breathtaking sunrise, a memory to cherish forever. The descent back to Barafu Camp takes 1 to 2 hours, where the rest of the mountain team welcomes you with snacks and refreshments. After a short break, you'll head to Mweka Camp, your last night on the mountain.
