Your journey begins at Machame Gate, where you will complete registration and meet your experienced guide and porters. The trek starts through lush rainforests, exposing you to the region's unique flora and fauna. After approximately 6 hours of hiking, you will reach Machame Camp, situated at an elevation of 3,000 meters.
On the second day, the trail takes you through picturesque moorlands and stunning landscapes. As you ascend, you will witness the transition from dense forests to more open terrain. The hike to Shira Camp, located at an altitude of 3,840 meters, will take approximately 5 to 6 hours.
Today's trek will lead you to Barranco Camp, offering breathtaking views of the Barranco Wall and the surrounding valleys. The trail involves some scrambling but is well worth the effort. At an elevation of 3,950 meters, Barranco Camp provides a unique setting for overnight camping.
From Barranco Camp, you will tackle the challenging Barranco Wall, a thrilling section that requires careful maneuvering. As you conquer the wall, you will be rewarded with panoramic vistas of the Karanga Valley and its mesmerizing landscapes. The day's hike will end at Karanga Camp, situated at 4,035 meters.
As you ascend to Barafu Camp, the terrain becomes steeper and more rugged. The path takes you through alpine desert landscapes, offering striking views of the surrounding glaciers. Upon reaching Barafu Camp at 4,680 meters, you will rest and prepare for the final push to the summit.
The most challenging but rewarding day awaits as you make your way to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Kilimanjaro at 5,895 meters. The trek begins in the early hours of the morning, aiming to reach the summit for a breathtaking sunrise. After celebrating your achievement, you will descend to Mweka Camp at 3,100 meters to rest and recover.
