The extra day through Karanga makes this route more balanced than a shorter climb, giving you better altitude adjustment and more time to enjoy the mountain. Day 1: Moshi to Lemosho Park Gate to Big Tree Campsite

Your luxury Lemosho Route Kilimanjaro climbing adventure starts with a morning drive from Moshi rk Gate, located on the peaceful western side of Mount Kilimanjaro. After registration, you will begin trekking through a green rainforest filled with tall trees, birds, ferns, moss, and fresh mountain air. Our guides will introduce a slow and comfortable pace as your body starts adjusting to the mountain. Along the way, you will enjoy lunch in the forest before continuing to Big Tree Campsite. When you arrive, the mountain crew will welcome you with warm service, freshly prepared food, and a relaxing camping setup surrounded by nature.

Day 2: Big Tree Camp to Shira 1 and Shira 2 Campsite

After breakfast, you will leave the rainforest and climb toward the wide open Shira Plateau. The trail becomes steeper as the vegetation changes from forest to heather and moorland, giving you beautiful views of Mount Kilimanjaro’s western slopes. You will pass Shira 1 Camp, enjoy a rest and lunch, then continue across the plateau toward Shira 2 Campsite. This day is longer, but it is one of the most scenic parts of the route. Our guides will remind you to walk pole pole, drink enough water, and keep your energy steady. At Shira 2, you will relax with hot drinks, fresh mountain food, and peaceful views under the high-altitude sky.

Today is an important acclimatization day as you trek from Shira 2 toward Lava Tower. You will climb into a drier and rockier alpine desert zone, where the landscape becomes more dramatic and open. Reaching the Lava Tower area helps your body adjust by climbing high and sleeping lower. Our guides will carefully monitor your pace and condition as you gain altitude. After lunch near Lava Tower, you will descend toward Barranco Camp, passing unique Kilimanjaro plants such as giant groundsels, lobelia, and senecio. The camp sits in a beautiful valley below the famous Barranco Wall, where you will enjoy warm food, rest, and mountain comfort.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

This day starts with the famous Barranco Wall, a fun and memorable section of Mount Kilimanjaro. It looks challenging from below, but our guides will show you the safest way and support you step by step. After reaching the top, you will enjoy wide views of the valleys, glaciers, and the higher slopes of the mountain. The trail continues across ridges and down into Karanga Valley before reaching Karanga Camp. This shorter trekking day gives you time to recover, eat well, drink warm tea, and prepare your body for the higher altitude ahead. It is one of the reasons the 7-day Lemosho Route feels more comfortable and better planned.

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Campsite

After breakfast at Karanga Camp, you will trek slowly toward Barafu Campsite, the base camp for your summit attempt. The trail is not very long, but the altitude is high, so our guides will keep a calm and steady pace. The environment becomes colder, drier, and more open, with rocky paths and strong views of the summit area. On arrival at Barafu, you will rest, enjoy lunch, and later have an early dinner before sleeping for a few hours. Our guides will brief you again about summit night, what to wear, what to carry, and how we will move safely toward Uhuru Peak. Hakuna Matata, the summit is now close.

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak then to Mweka Camp

Distance: 5 km ascent to Uhuru Peak, then 12 km descent to Mweka Camp

Around midnight, our guides will wake you for the final summit push. You will start with hot tea and light food before walking slowly through the cold arctic zone toward Stella Point and then Uhuru Peak. This is the hardest part of the journey, but our guides will stay close, encourage you, and monitor your safety throughout the climb. Reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, is a powerful moment filled with joy, pride, and unforgettable sunrise views. After photos and celebration, you will descend back to Barafu for a short rest and food before continuing down to Mweka Camp. The lower altitude brings warmer air and a deep feeling of success.

After your final breakfast on Mount Kilimanjaro, you will descend through the green rainforest toward Mweka Gate. The trail is fresh and peaceful, with beautiful forest plants, tall trees, moss, and flowers along the way. Our guides will walk with you as you reflect on the full journey from Lemosho Gate to Uhuru Peak. At Mweka Gate, you will sign out and receive your summit certificate if you reached Stella Point or Uhuru Peak. After the celebration, we will drive you back to Moshi, where you can enjoy a hot shower, good food, and a comfortable rest after completing your 7-day luxury Lemosho Route Kilimanjaro climbing safari.
